The activities of our Regulatory Affairs and Policy Development Department have also expanded, as we continue to work on behalf of members to affect positive change with regulators and lawmakers; benefiting our industry by advocating for legislative modernization. Recent victories on this front have solidified CHFA’s position with regulatory agencies. CHFA members benefit from an increasingly predictable regulatory environment as a result of the good relations we have developed with Health Canada. Members have access to a wealth of information on important issues that affect their businesses from a regulatory standpoint and we work to facilitate frequent interactions between members and lawmakers.

The past few years have also seen the growth of our communications programs. We have established CHFA as a credible go-to source of information for the

media and consumers. Our proactive media outreach, public awareness campaigns and advertising have allowed us to reach millions of Canadians with positive and educational message about the many benefits of natural health and organic products. Our social media campaigns allow us to engage with a growing community of Canadians interested in living a natural, healthy lifestyle. Our members benefit from our public awareness campaign in which we promote the use of natural health and organic products. In addition, members have access to regular communications and publications with important information affecting their businesses and our industry.
Our Membership Department has also grown with the development of additional free webinars and educational series as one of the many benefits of CHFA membership.

Our Member Benefits Partners program gives members access to preferred rates on a variety of services like point of sale credit and debit transaction plans, group health benefit insurance programs, nationwide shipping and much more. CHFA’s growth has also allowed us to expand our partnership with the Canadian College of Naturophatic Medicine with the introduction of new course curriculum in late 2014, which will allow us to continue offering the Certified Natural Products Advisory course, the most complete, science-based course of its kind in Canada for health food retailers. We constantly introduce new networking and learning opportunities for our members and our dedicated membership team provides prompt support for all member inquiries.

If you are not already a member there is no better time than now to join! Annual membership fees start as low as $125 for retailers. Sign up online at chfa.ca, or contact our Membership Department at membership@chfa.ca or 1.800.661.4510.
